Fortrose may be a small town, to some it possibly will be seen as isolated, but unknown to many, Fortrose has connections across the globe. People have moved to Scotland from as far away as Asia and South America. Even in the school many pupils have moved from other nations.
In 2007 1st Avoch Sea Scouts became the world’s only Gaelic speaking scout group and use the language in ceremonial commands. We are one of only 3 Royal Naval recognised Scout groups in Scotland

Immigration is apparently a key issue in the UK’s economy. The parties who say this are arguing that immigrants are disrupting British culture or “stealing” our jobs. 3/4 of us are in favour of reducing immigration, and there’s been a large majority in favour of this since the 1960s.
There are mountain bikers who tackle the tracks of our countryside and forests; there are road cyclists who race along our scenic coastal roads; but there are very few people who bother cycling to school.
Why not? You can do many things at 16 in the UK – get married, pay tax and apply for the armed forces. But you can’t yet vote in general elections. The first time any 16-17 year olds were allowed to vote anywhere in Britain was at the Scottish Independence referendum in September. |
