What is the difference between the two countries?
“Japan is quite different from Scotland as it has larger and busier cities and Tokyo is bigger than Edinburgh.”
Is your lifestyle different at home to others in Scotland? If so how?
“I don’t think it is too different because if you walked into my house you couldn’t tell if it was Japanese as nothing stands out.”
What reasons would influence you to move to Japan?
“We have no plans to move to Japan as it has never occurred.”
Are there any festivals in Japan that you celebrate or know of and what are they?
“In Japan there is a Children’s day and a Boy and Girl‘s day. We also put up decorations when some festivals take place in Japan.”
How different is the weather?
“Summer is much hotter in Japan but winter isn’t that different from Scotland.”
If you moved to Japan, would you miss Scotland and why?
“I would enjoy living in Japan but I would miss Scotland in general.”
What is it like to have half Japanese and half Scottish family?
“I wouldn’t say it is any different from another family but I like speaking two languages.”
Are your hobbies influenced by your Japanese side and how?
“I don’t think my hobbies are influenced by my Japanese side but there are more musical people in Japan.”

“In Japan there is a lot of fish but I’m vegetarian which makes it difficult but I enjoy eating Japanese snacks.”
