What's Happening in the Library ?
Book displays – The library always has several displays of books you might like to read. We have a stand with books shortlisted for the Carnegie and Greenaway awards for children’s and young adults’ books. Why not try one of them?
There is a huge choice of books for people of all ages, from babies to teenagers to adults…also audio books on MP3, DVDs…
Why not relax on our new sofas and have a look through the newspapers and magazines? Titles include Match, Empire, Your Horse, Mountain Biking UK and Trial.
Young children can play, colour and read in the children’s area. There are Bookbug Sessions – story and rhyme sessions for children under 4 – on Mondays and Saturdays.
Members of the public are welcome to use the People’s Network computers. For people with their own laptop, tablet or smartphone, there is free wifi – just ask one of the library staff for your code!
Older people who need help with computers, phones and new technology can come to the free “Getting to know your techno” classes.
There are two book groups, which meet once a month in the library.
Online library – have a look at the library’s website: www.highlifehighland.com/libraries . You can request or renew books, download e-books and e-audio books, read e-magazines and newspapers…
