Showing an example of Fortrose Academy at excursions and events can be tricky whilst not bearing their logo and appearing well polished and disciplined even harder, however from now on our seniors will represent our school with the trademark shirt and tie. Even if it is just a trip up the street to the local co-op our seniors can still represent the rest of us and carry on the good image of Fortrose.
Speaking as a younger pupil I agree that the seniors look well-groomed and not as shabby as the current any black or white item of clothing. I remember a survey two or so years ago which was interested in our views on school uniform, I was not incredibly interested in the survey however I was not against the idea of school uniform and still agree that a uniform can be uniting; however I do enjoy being allowed to pick which clothes I wear to school.
I think the choice of expressing yourself with clothing is restricted when a uniform is introduced and I believe that’s the reason why there has never been a majority vote for uniform.
The power of wearing a uniform can be enormous. The equality which comes from a uniform helps to bind people together to appear more on each other’s level and create a team. It can represent your school and looking smart makes you appear more disciplined. My view on the uniform is that I think younger pupils should have the choice of wearing what they want and I agree that the seniors should wear uniform.
Do you agree?
